Mushroom-Sage Olive Oil Croutons

These homemade croutons will be the talk of the town and are a great way to use up leftover bread.

  • Day old french bread (or any other loaf)
  • 1/2 cup Della Terra Mushroom Sage Olive Oil
  • 1 tbsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper

Preheat the oven to 375ºF.  Cut bread into 1" cubes (approximately 4 cups). Don't bother removing the crust, it adds texture. In a large bowl, bread cubes with Olive Oil, salt & pepper. When the bread is evenly coated, place the cubes on a rimmed baking sheet on the middle rack of the oven. Bake for 35 minutes, stirring a couple times to ensure even browning. Use to top your favourite salad or soup.
